The training camp was buzzing with energy — officers marching, whistles blowing, instructions flying across the dusty ground. The government had allowed wives to accompany their husbands for the two-day camp, and Siya was more than happy to join her Reyansh.
From the moment they arrived, she watched him in action — tall, commanding, with that signature “I-mean-business” face. Officers followed his orders like school kids in front of the headmaster.
But then… the dog drill happened. 🐕
Siya noticed it instantly — the way Reyansh’s shoulders stiffened, his steps slowed, and his confident eyes darted nervously toward the row of big, barking police dogs.
She tilted her head. Wait… is my lion… scared?
When it was his turn to walk past, his hands curled into fists, but his feet wouldn’t move. The loud barks echoed, and suddenly he looked less like a fierce officer and more like… well… a cornered kitten.
Before anyone could tease him, Siya marched right over.
“Reyansh Rathore!” she whispered dramatically, “Are you… scared of puppies?”
“They’re not puppies,” he grumbled under his breath, “they’re giant teeth on legs.”
Siya bit back a laugh, but her heart melted at the sight of her fearless husband looking so lost. She quickly slipped her hand into his and whispered, “Okay, lion. Eyes on me, not them.”
And just like that, she started walking backward in front of him, keeping eye contact while he followed like an obedient schoolboy.
When they finally got past the dogs, Reyansh exhaled like he’d just crossed a battlefield. Without caring who was watching, he pulled her into a tight hug.
“Don’t tell anyone,” he mumbled into her shoulder.
She smirked. “Oh, I’m telling everyone… that my big, scary officer turns into a baby kitten when he sees dogs.”
Later that night in their camp tent, Siya was brushing his hair as he rested his head on her lap.
“You know,” she teased, “today I saw my husband’s cutest side.”
He groaned, covering his face with a pillow. “Stop it, Siya.”
“Nope,” she said, kissing the top of his head, “You’re my brave officer outside… but with me, you’ll always be my softie.”
He peeked from under the pillow, eyes full of love. “Only yours.”
She smiled, “Good. Because I like my lion, but I love my kitten.”
